INSERTS -- Available in two all purpose coated grades. DLX and KLX. KLX is recommended for high temperature alloys such as Inconel. Insert geometry is designed specially for deep hole drilling.
Diameter Adjustment -- A diameter change of up to 0.012” is possible by adjusting the 2 screws on the outer cartridge. The adjustment varies according to head diameter.
Sub Guide Pad -- Assists in stabilizing the drill head in the guide bushing.
Threads -- Both single tube systems (ID "BTA Style" & OD "Sandvik Style") and double tube system (OD --"Sandvik Style") threads are supplied as standards. |
Back Tapered Guide Pads -- Qualified guide pads fit precisely with no adjustment necessary. Pockets are back tapered to accept reversible guide pads.
Ceramic Guide Pads -- In recent 1.969" Dia. drill trials, the ceramic guide pads averaged an impressive 656 feet per pad. Increased guide pad life results in increased insert life. Note that ceramic pads are not for use with titanium or water soluble coolant.
Guide Pad Protectors -- Guide pad protectors prevent damage during rapid traverse.
