American Heller's Brazed Regrindable Drill Heads (TU) are used for Solid Drilling operations. Solid Drilling is a deep hole drilling process used when only one operation is desired to obtain the required bore diameter. Solid Drilling tools remove all the material from the bore in just one pass. Additionally due to the quality of the bore finish the majority of operations require no additional machining to 'clean up' the bore.

General Information

American Heller's Brazed Regrindable Drill Heads (TU) are for use with the BTA/STS drilling system. For more information on the BTA/STS drilling system please refer to our Drilling Information Page . Our TU heads are stocked from 0.591-2.559" dia. The TU heads are regrindable. TU heads have an internal thread and chips are ID exhausted through the drilling bar/drill tube. The following table shows the different tool ranges and the standard drilling bar/drill tube that they are used with.

American Heller's Brazed Regrindable (TU) Drill Heads are available in a variety of different grades for drilling different materials. The table below shows the available grades and the part material that they should be used with. The PC grade is the default grade and a special TIN coating is also available upon request.
