American Heller Corporation offers a special Cross Hole Adapter for drilling through cross holes in a workpiece. The adapter guide pads support the drill's cutting edge as it passes through the cross hole. These adapters provide a 2-piece drilling solution for drilling over cross holes.
Ideally, a Special Cross Hole Drill will provide better results, but they are only suitable if cross hole drilling makes up a majority of your drilling operations since they are more expensive than standard brazed tools. The 2-Piece solution (Cross Hole Adapter + Tool) provides the most economical method of drilling through cross holes if cross hole drilling is not your primary operation.
